Summary of Duties:

 

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Accreditation Specialist will apply best practices in the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for health professionals.

 

Works with the Associate Director, CME, and other staff and leadership in the Office for Faculty Affairs and Continuing Professional Development, particularly its Associate Dean, to maintain accredited provider status by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

 

Collaborates with internal and external program planners to ensure programs comply with accreditation standards. Acts as primary point of contact for programming planners seeking consultation support, orientation, and training related to CME accreditation.

 

Works with Associate Director to develop and update policies and procedures related to CME accreditation; ensures all online materials and the CloudCME or other learning management platforms are user-friendly and up to date.

 

Supports CME planning committees, instructors, contractors, subject matter experts to develop instructional materials and deliver accredited programs.

Required Qualifications:

 

A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 

Additional Requirements:

 

• Three (3) years of experience with progressively responsible job-related experience in Continuing Professional Development or related field for health professionals/related industry.

 

• Knowledge of the health professional education field, healthcare industry, health system or related work.

 

• Must possess excellent organization skills.

 

• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication.

 

• Outstanding customer service skills.

 

• Ability to work cooperatively and productively with others to achieve shared goals.

 

• Intermediate computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of products. Familiarity with Zoom, Asana, and other project or event management software programs are an asset.

 

• Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight.

 

• Must have a valid driver's license.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Five or more years of experience accrediting, designing, implementing, and evaluating Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.

 

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Public Administration, Health Sciences, Education, or other closely related field.
