Available Title(s): 164-NNFACULTY - Clinical Assistant Professor - Career, 165-NNFACULTY - Clinical Associate Professor - Career Business Title: Assistant/Associate Professor-Small Animal Internal Medicine-Career Track, Variable Rank Employee Type: Faculty Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: This position will emphasize clinical service and clinical teaching, with up to 65% effort devoted to these activities. The successful candidate will provide clinical service for the VTH and clinical instruction of professional veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students. Remaining effort will comprise classroom/laboratory teaching and/or collaborative research/scholarship within the candidate's area of interest. The successful applicant should be able to effectively communicate and work collegially and collaboratively with people of diverse backgrounds and demonstrate a commitment and relevant ability to successfully advocate for diversity and values of diversity and inclusion. Required Qualifications - Both Ranks: • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) degree or foreign equivalent degree (i.e., BVSc). • Diplomate status or board-eligibility in Small Animal Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, by the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications - Both Ranks: • Interest and expertise in practicing all aspects of internal medicine. • Interest and expertise in performing abdominal ultrasound (training can be provided). Associate Professor Rank: Will need a record of scholarship aligned with effort devoted to scholarship in previous positions, a higher level of national/international recognition and a higher level of clinical and teaching experience as compared to Assistant Professor applicants. Considerations regarding rank will be determined based on the interests and qualifications of the candidate, as will division of time between clinical duty, teaching, and scholarly activity.
