What's the role:

The Carrier Service accounting Analyst role is a critical role that will be focused on the day to day carrier and roaming accounting / financial functions located in the Panama Operations Center. Works closely and will partner with all levels of the business to deliver high quality accounting and reporting service and analysis to business units.

How can you add value?

• Perform annual settlement by partner at the end of a contract period

• Liaising with roaming partners to confirm annual settlements and all queries related to settlements

• Follow up with Syniverse on any collection matters related to voice traffic and annual settlements

• Maintain commitment listing and required updates as received / confirmed with Carrier Commercial.

• Investigate abnormal traffic trends and raise query with the Tech Ops team in Carrier Services

• Review aged outstanding receivables from Syniverse and highlight concerns with Carrier Financial Controller for submission to Syniverse

• Provide Cash forecast based on Syniverse collections and bank balances.

• Provide weekly outlook for inbound and outbound roaming performances

Monthly Tasks

• Create monthly accruals by partner (traffic, commitment, and discount) for approval by Carrier Financial Controller and local BU Controller for general ledger posting

• Processing of actual annual settlement notes (debit/ credit) – creation of journals and support for posting

• Processing of monthly traffic actuals and reversal of prior month’s accruals – creation of journals and support for posting

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation to ledger by carrier for:

• Discount Payable Account

• Discount Receivable Account

• Accounts Receivable Account

• Accounts Payable Account

How can you add value?

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor level, Finance or Accounting degree, Carrier Services Knowledge, Accounting Experience (experience in Public Accounting preferred) Shared Service or related field.

Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent English in both verbal and written form; Spanish desirable but not essential

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong analytical skills, the ability to handle multiple projects at once.

• Strong knowledge of telecommunications and the dynamics of mobile, fixed, and media markets preferred (desirable)

• Multinational and Multicurrency accounting environment experience a plus.

• knowledge of financial systems

• knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS accounting standards

• Strong Excel Skills required.
