Summary:

Quality products are essential to the satisfaction of Trane Commercial System’s customers. Their expectations around Quality are growing and require additional strategic engagement to meet their needs. This Technical Product Support Engineer serves as the point of contact with strategic customers around all Quality efforts related to their (Centrifugal and Rotary Screw) chillers. This remote/virtual position will report directly to the Mission Critical and Strategic Customer Chiller Leader and will work closely with key customers, Strategic Account Managers, Area Service Managers, Operations leadership and Technical Service teams.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Provide knowledge and consultation in the form of developing HVAC system related solutions for the customer’s problems, including financial and performance-based considerations.

  • Consistently ascertain customer needs and current market opportunities. Assemble and coordinate acquisition team as needed for customers and projects.

  • Assist customers in answering technical questions on HVAC systems, Trane Products and relevant industry issues.

  • Identify any Quality issues that may impact targeted customers and work with strategic customers quality department to develop a plan to mitigate the impact.

  • Help establish peer relationships with key individuals from Strategic Accounts and the Company on all levels nationally, regionally and locally.

  • Conduct regular account reviews with sales office and customer to develop strategies to grow business.

  • Work internally with our ETO team to help create products and systems to allow for new business penetration.

  • Ability to travel (domestic & international) to customer locations as required (up to 10%).

  • Proficient with strategic customers standard work and systems used to record and communicate quality throughout their organization.

  • On-site support as deemed necessary to meet strategic customer(s) expectations.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical degree) and at least 5 years of commercial HVAC applications work experience is required.

Key Skills or Competencies:

  • Strategic customer advocate experience to facilitate quality issue communication and resolution in a timely manner

  • Technical aptitude to communicate centrifugal chillers and their applications required

  • Project management experience leading cross-functional teams with time requirements preferred

  • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally

Annual Compensation Range is $75,000 to $142,000 annually. Disclaimer : This salary range is based on US national averages. Actual pay is a result of seniority/experience level, merit and geographic location where the actual work is performed.
