Finance Operations Manager needed for a Provo, UT university.

Finance Operations Manager

Serves as Finance Operations Manager for Graduate Studies (GS) providing all forecasting, analysis and financial management. In addition, this person coordinates human resources and facilities management within GS. This is a very diverse job with lots of variety. This position reports to the Graduate Studies Dean and works with a dynamic group of seasoned professional staff and some amazing student employees.

What you'll do in this position:

Finance Operations Manager - Analysis and Tracking of Budget and Financial Information for Decision-making (70%)

  • Forecast, analyze, disseminate and track the annual disbursement of graduate student related allocations which is a major source of funding for many of the 92 graduate programs.
  • Provide budgetary allocation status reports to college deans, associate deans, department chairs, graduate coordinators, and graduate program managers for all graduate programs. Helps resolve concerns and issues with the colleges regarding allocations.
  • Promotes the wise and proper use of university assets and resources and makes spending recommendations to the Dean.
  • Analyzes financial results and provides management with information and recommendation and assists professional staff in establishing budgets that represent operational priorities. 
  • Interprets data and manages systems to help ensure internal controls and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, university policy and procedures.
  • Supervises the Office Manager and assists with supervising front desk employees.
  • Approve all Fast Track, YExpense, YMarketplace, budget adjustments, and journal entry transactions for GS.

HR Operations Manager for GS (20%)

  • Posting and hiring of all administrative, staff, and student employee positions.
  • Track all Full time Equivalent (FTE) employees and monitor sick and vacation time each month.

Facilities/Space (10%)

  • Initiate and track work orders for facility repair and improvement. Keep GS's Business Continuity Plan updated to ensure function of GS during an emergency or disaster  

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU 
  • Graduate degree in finance or accounting with at least 2 years professional experience.

Preferred

  • 4 years professional experience.
