Editorial & Content Coordinator needed for a Provo, UT university.

Editorial and Content Coordinator

We need your help to communicate effectively across all of our channels to help students find academic program, fund their study abroad, and expand their world through international education and experiential opportunities.   As part of Kennedy Communications, you will create, synthesize, organize, and share insightful global ideas, events, and programs with campus and the world. 

*What you'll do in this position: * 

The Editorial and Content Coordinator creates new content for all Kennedy Center communications and marketing print and online channels.  

Graphic Design Management 

  • Oversee and manage all graphic design requests which include posters, brochures, banners, flyers, stickers, digital slides, journals, proceedings, and reports. 
  • Supervise student graphic designers to ensure efficient workflow and completion of projects according to desired timeframes. 
  • Send final files to print/production teams and coordinate delivery to clients. 

Content Creation 

  • Develop new content for the Kennedy Center's email newsletters, Newsroom website, alumni magazine, reports, press releases, etc. 
  • Supervise Editorial Assistant on content creation projects and review his/her work prior to publishing. 

Editorial Support 

  • Supervisory editor for both short- and long-term Kennedy Center projects, including email newsletters, webpages, digital signage slides, flyers, posters, publications, journals, conference proceedings, reports, and magazines. 
  • Provide fact-checking and image copyright review as needed. 

*Coordinate CRM Tracking * 

  • Manage and update MailChimp and BYU Listserv workflow, analytics, and data collection methods. 
  • Supervise analytics on editing and content production. 
  • Maintain and develop CRM system for tracking strategic contacts (alumni, friends, faculty, speakers, board members, etc.) 

What qualifies you for this role: 

Required 

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of content creation, editorial, or related experience (relevant part-time work experience considered), OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
  • Effective time and project management skills. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, adaptability and attention to detail. 
  • Awareness of trends across higher education and international affairs. 
  • Ability to represent the Kennedy Center and BYU effectively. 
  • Ability to work directly with a wide range of disciplines, backgrounds, nationalities, and life experiences. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and diplomatically with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. 
  • MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel proficiency. 
  • Adobe InDesign and Acrobat proficiency. 
  • Google Suite (G-suite) proficiency: Sheets, Forms, Slides. 
  • Qualtrics proficiency. 

Preferred  

  • Master's degree plus 2 years of content creation, editorial, or related experience (relevant part-time work experience considered), OR equivalent combination of educa tion and/or experience. 
  • Awareness of international issues, current events and global trends. 
  • Knowledge of university/local community. 
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
