Assistant Manager Student Family Housing

BYU is constantly working to provide excellent housing for students.  This position has the wonderful opportunity to work with student families at Brigham Young University. This position helps to provide accommodations to improve the academic, social, spiritual experience of students, and help  student families thrive at the university.  This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career at BYU.  

*What you'll do in this position: *

Assist in the supervision and coordination of the operation of Student Family Housing. Develop and implement programming, advise, and facilitate the development of Community Aides, staff, and residents in accordance with the Mission of Residence Life, the Aims of a BYU Education, and BYU's Strategic Objectives.

What qualifies you for this role:

Education/Experience  

Preferred: Bachelor degree or 4 years related experience

 

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications

  • Experience in business, administrative management, working knowledge of construction and physical facilities
  • Tenant and public relations, conflict resolution, human relations and cultures
  • Strong professional verbal and written communication - listening, nonverbal
  • Creative problem-solving abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Self-starter, take initiative to achieve outcomes with little supervision
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Exercise mature and sound judgement, act with integrity and use discretion with information and interactions that occur
  • Manageability and make positive contributions with the willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the department
  • Train and supervise student employees and community aides
  • Technological competence and experience using various applications to conduct work such as Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, etc.
