A well respected, growing plaintiff's personal injury firm is adding another Litigation Attorney to their team. The role entails handling 50 cases to settlement or trial. Position requires: (1) an active license in Rhode Island (2) 3+ years of personal injury litigation or medical malpractice litigation experience; (3) experience taking at least 2 cases to trial. Role is 99% remote outside of occasional in-person client meetings, so candidates must be able to commute into the Providence office up to 2x/month. Base salary starts at $100,000. Position includes commission, with expected earnings of atleast $165,000. The firm has an effective marketing strategy in place, so there is no requirement that you bring in your own business.

Responsibilities

• Handle personal injury litigation, with the ability to bring a case all the way to trial

• Experience in building large cases for maximum value, using experts, research, and witness testimony

• Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents

• Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information

• Negotiate suitable agreements and settle on the client's behalf when appropriate

• Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation

• Document and update the status of all case files in Smart Advocate

• Work with paralegals and other attorneys to resolve files
