Charter Care Health Partners HIM Operations Team Coordinator in Providence, Rhode Island

Summary: Serves as a team leader and resource for day-to-day HIM operations. Reviews daily assignments and productivity to ensure targets are met with medical records processing, scanning, release of information, record completion, EMR change management, MPI integrity functions, TJC/QI reporting, and portal system management. Ensures compliance with hospital policies and standards. Monitors productivity and scheduling of staff. Assists with cross-training and education of staff. Recommends process improvements to streamline departmental operations to ensure the highest level of efficiency. Assist in all duties within the department to maintain operational needs.

Education: Associate Degree in Health Information Technology preferred or equivalent experience.

Licensure: RHIT or RHIA preferred.

Experience: Three years of experience in HIM Department preferred, in addition to acute care and ambulatory care HIM experience. Experience with software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Meditech. Ability to blend team lead responsibilities with technical operations and creative problem-solving skills. Proficiency in motivating others toward effective, integrated work performance. Thorough knowledge of medical records systems, Joint Commission and State and Federal regulation knowledge is required. Must be a self-starter and have ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
