Randstad, in partnership with our client, a leading healthcare system, is seeking an Accounting Manager for their Providence, RI location. Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, this Accounting Manager role is responsible for managing accounting operations, preparing monthly consolidated financial statements, and overseeing individual financial statements and general ledgers for multiple non-hospital entities. Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent. CPA certification or equivalent knowledge preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum eight years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role. Experience in automated accounting environments required, with preference for healthcare industry experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and large database systems.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position oversees up to ten full-time staff members, including responsibilities for hiring, training, performance evaluations, and personnel management.

salary: $120,000 - $130,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting team by interviewing, hiring, and assigning staff; provide guidance and conduct performance evaluations, recommend personnel actions, and develop staff performance standards.

  • Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of accounting records for corporate services, physician groups, and affiliated foundations.

  • Oversee the timely preparation and submission of consolidated financial statements and monthly financial reports for non-hospital entities.

  • Prepare the annual balance sheet and cash flow budget for corporate services and affiliated entities.

  • Develop and present annual budget proposals for review.

  • Monitor restricted fund deficits and work with accounting staff to resolve issues; follow up on inactive funds to facilitate spending in line with restrictions.

  • Act as a consultant for financial affairs, contributing to the development of finance policies and procedures.

  • Manage cash control functions, including deposits and recording of transactions, as well as monthly cash receipts reporting.

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable check audit and distribution process.

  • Participate in various committees, quality improvement teams, and councils.

  • Continuously evaluate procedures to improve workflow and reduce operational costs.

  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control policies.
