Description and Position Overview

The Regulatory Advisory Compliance team within BlackRock’s Legal and Compliance Department oversees compliance for several areas, including the support of BlackRock’s asset management sales and distribution functions. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to join the team as a Vice President, providing compliance support for the distribution and marketing of separately managed account and other investment adviser services, including options overlay strategies. The successful candidate will also participate in special projects and strategic initiatives. This position will also provide support for the team’s broader remit, which includes advisory compliance support for general sales and marketing activities by BlackRock’s regulated entities. Candidates must be capable of functioning in a fast-paced environment in an efficient, detail-oriented, and self-directed manner. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of applicable regulatory requirements, possess excellent analytical skills, and have the ability to partner across several departments.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Separately Managed Account Services Compliance: Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures specific to separately managed account services, including those with options overlay strategies.

  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Ensure the firm’s compliance with all relevant regulations, including SEC, FINRA, NFA and other applicable regulatory bodies.

  • Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and update compliance policies and procedures to reflect changes in regulations and business practices, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.

  • Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for staff members on compliance-related matters, including regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Collaboration and Advisory: Work closely with Legal, Operations, and other departments to address compliance issues and implement solutions collaboratively. Engage the business, including theModel Portfolio Team, as the primary compliance contact.

  • Various on-going initiatives and ad-hoc projects, as needed

Skills/Requirements

  • BS/BA degree required

  • 5-7 years’ experience in compliance, legal or regulatory functions. Experience involving distribution and marketing of separately managed account and other investment adviser services, including options overlay strategies is a strongplus

  • Candidate must be solutions-driven, confident, and highly motivated

  • Candidate must have excellent organizational, project management, strong analytical, and inter-personal skills

  • Candidate must be a team player who is able to handle multiple projects at a time and produce work product with impeccable integrity and attention to detail

  • Strong technical proficiency in Windows applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with SmartSheet a plus

Location

This position will be located in BlackRock’s Princeton, New Jersey office.
