Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Manager / Lead Taxation in our Finance team to help manage tax reporting and compliance within the organization. Prepare for future filings and support Audits initiated by various revenue authorities. This role (with hybrid work schedule) will report to the Head Contracts, Govt Pricing and Taxation

Responsibilities

  • Quarterly collect financial details from home office and other functions in finance, review the data and send to consultant for preparation of tax provisions, review tax provisions and send to corporate tax team for passing tax entries. Based on Tax Provisions file, Quarterly make payment of Estimated tax due for Federal as well as States.

  • Collect tax details from various Business Units / departments (Dr. Reddy's US) and share with consultant. Prepare and review tax returns data in compliance with tax Regulations of State and Federal and to monitor & assess tax liability of entities.

  • Prepare and file monthly / quarterly / yearly sales and use tax returns. File extensions for Federal and State Tax returns, Assist consultants in preparing federal and state income tax returns and oversee the filing of such returns on / before filing due dates. Filing of various corporate annual reports on or before due date with various Secretaries Of State. Filing Census reports on quarterly basis. Filing of property tax returns. Filing for 1042s

  • Attend the state / local tax audits (income tax / sales & Use tax / franchise tax, business activity tax etc.) and IRS audits

  • Provide inputs for development of RCM (risk control matrix) & control mechanisms; Filing of timely returns of tax documents; dispute resolution; prepare & submit quarterly reports, assist provisions allocation; update internal teams on changes in policies / formats; provide assistance for internal & statutory audits of the team

  • Comply with US withholding tax requirements

  • Document process map - computation and compliance

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of interface of revenue and tax data from Shopify, Amazon and other DTC platforms, ensure NAG sales uploaded into Avalara system to file State Sales tax returns and payments as per State regulations. Reconcile the sales tax collection vs payments in coordination with Controlling team.

Qualifications

Educational qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

Minimum work experience: 15 years of relevant tax experience and exposure to State, Federal, local and international taxes

Basic understanding of US and Canada pharmaceutical business

Skills & attributes:

  • Knowledge of domestic tax laws, accounting laws and taxation guidelines; Abreast with the recent trends & changes in tax laws including State Sales tax related matters for DTC business

  • People relationship management with ability to influence cross functional teams

  • Strong communication skills (Verbal and written)

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability towards problem solving and assertiveness.
