Position Summary:

The Executive Director, Educational Partnerships is accountable for managing and expanding the pipeline to establish and support sales targets. The incumbent will propose to head of Praxis a strategic balance of sales and partnerships necessary to drive revenue and own the plan to deliver on these objectives with state and Educator Preparation Program (EPP) clients.

The Executive Director works with product development, operations, and management to ensure products meet customer needs and can be sold effectively; leads the department in assessing, clarifying, and validating consumer needs on a regular basis, targeting sales accordingly and managing the Director, Educational Partnerships team.

Responsibilities:

Business Development

Strategically identifies key markets/verticals and strategic partnership opportunities to grow revenue for the expanding catalogue of Praxis products and services

Develops sales strategy, goals, and messaging for open pursuits and state adoption consistent with and in the furtherance of the Praxis strategic roadmap

Identifies decision makers, buyers, detractors, influencers and client buying process

Strategically uses interpersonal interaction to identify market needs and intelligence

Identifies, documents, and prioritizes opportunities for each product and service in the Praxis catalogue to support sales, investment and marketing strategy

Leads all new bidding opportunities for assessments from identification to closure

Represents ETS to clients, potential clients and professional organizations, associations and institutions

Liaises with ETS product management function, advocates on behalf of state clients and institutions of higher education, ensures that market needs are incorporated into product development processes

Partners with necessary ETS functional stakeholders on proposal solution design and operational assessment management

Liaises with ETS Government Relations and external lobbyists to strategically advocate for ETS, influence policy and establish key relationships with state actors

Liaises with ETS/Praxis Marketing and Research to ensure claims and evidence are appropriate for state agency and Educator Preparation Program consumption in service of preserving the brand quality reputation

Develops effective strategies to build brand awareness and gain access to decision makers

Works with Product Management / Marketing teams to develop innovative sales and marketing ideas

Generates, qualifies, and nurtures sales leads and build relationships with prospective clients and partners

Client Management

Oversees strategic relationships with external stakeholders

Assesses relationship strength and develops plan to improve relationships with priority clients

Accountable for ensuring client / customer satisfaction

Develops strategies to attain and improve client satisfaction

Identifies segmentation criteria and oversees institution segmentation and prioritization

Determines product goals and supervises the development and execution of account plans

Represents the program at conferences and other external events

Client Satisfaction and Feedback Management

Supports design, administration, and completion of annual client satisfaction survey

Defines business response to critical client feedback (including product issues, operational concerns)

Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business or an equivalent of relevant professional experience, is required

MBA degree from a ranked business school, or an equivalent of relevant professional experience, is preferred.

Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in global product management/product

development/business development.

6+ years of prior management experience is preferred.
