POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Director of Data Products & Strategy responsible for implementing the organization's data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, and driving engagement with

key business stakeholders. This role involves leveraging data to enhance decision-making, optimize operations, and foster innovation. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, deliver data

solutions as products, and act as a bridge between data teams and business units to maximize the value derived from data assets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Drive implantation of the enterprise data strategy aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business growth and efficiency.

  • Oversee the development of data initiatives and projects, ensuring they meet business needs and deliver value.

Data as a Product:

  • Champion the concept of data as a product using human-centered design principles, ensuring that data solutions are treated with a product mindset.

  • Collaborate with product management teams to integrate data products into the broader business strategy.

Agile Delivery of Data Solutions:

  • Implement agile methodologies to deliver data solutions quickly and efficiently.

  • Establish cross-functional agile teams, partnering closely with product and solutions teams, to develop and iterate on data products.

  • Ensure that data solutions are delivered in a timely manner, meeting the evolving needs of the business, and producing incremental value.

Business Engagement:

  • Lead collaboration between data teams and business units.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to ensure data initiatives support business priorities.

  • Educate business stakeholders on the benefits and capabilities of data analytics.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, including data scientists, analysts, and engineers.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the data team.

  • Manage resources, budgets, and timelines for data projects.

Analytics and Insights:

  • Drive the development and application of data solutions including self-service & advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to solve business problems.

  • Ensure the delivery of actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to business leaders.

  • Monitor and report on the impact of data initiatives on business performance.

Technology and Tools:

  • Evaluate and implement data tools and technologies that support the data strategy.

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of data innovation.

Performance Metrics:

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data initiatives and their impact on business outcomes.

  • Align data team KPIs with business KPIs to ensure that data activities drive measurable business value.

  • Regularly review and report on KPIs, using data to identify areas for improvement and drive strategic decision-making.

  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data management best practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.

  • Ability to see the big picture and align data initiatives with business objectives.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Enthusiasm for exploring innovative uses for data for commercial purposes.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.

  • Adaptable and flexible in response to changing business needs and priorities.

  • Understanding and appreciation for UI/UX concepts and human-centered design

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field

  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience to constitute a similar level of expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of experience in relevant field OR Master’s degree + 6 years of experience in relevant field

  • Proficient understanding of data analytics, machine learning, and data visualization tools.

  • Experience with agile methodologies and delivering data solutions in an agile framework

  • Experience in data strategy, advanced analytics, data management or related roles.
