The Commercial Contracts Counsel is an integral member of the legal team responsible for the day-to-day coordination of legal work on commercial contracts and commercial operations. More specifically, s/he will be responsible for (i) handling the day-to-day legal work related to different stakeholders, including commercial operations, finance, sales and marketing, patient support services, and general commercial contracting, (ii) working with other members of the legal team in review of customer-facing contracts, and (iii) implementing and overseeing the contracts review policy.

The ideal candidate will have law firm and/or in-house experience in drafting and negotiating NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, HCP and non-HCP consulting agreement, and commercial customer agreements and working with clients in the pharmaceutical industry with a strong competency on advising on pharmaceutical business issues.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee company’s commercial contracts and general business matters by providing direct legal services on a broad range of matters.

  • Liaise with a range of stakeholder across different functions in his/her handling of commercial contracting.

  • Work with and supervise outside counsel on various legal matters as appropriate.

  • Provide well‐reasoned and practical legal advice and counsel in a timely fashion.

Skills And Abilities

  • Excellent legal judgment and business acumen

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry including U.S. pharmaceutical laws, anti-kickback laws, FDA regulations, and industry standards, privacy laws, and ability to apply such laws, regulations and standards to inform business activities

  • Comfortable working in an intense, fast-paced environment, must be responsive to the needs his/her business partners, have a high energy level, be hands-on, and have the judgment/confidence to be able to execute under pressure in a timely way

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong intellect, judgment, leadership style, and ability to manage interpersonal relationships at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other corporate functions

  • Excellent organizational, project management and technological skills

Requirements

  • 3 years or more of legal experience as a commercial attorney with pharmaceutical experience

  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) – Required

  • JD degree from a nationally recognized law school – Required
