Genmab is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director specializing in clinical and nonclinical lab and data services to join our team in Research & Innovation Outsourcing Management.

The Associate Director will drive, collaborate, and advise on the end-to-end contracting & outsourcing process for lab and data services with external service providers (e.g., Contract Research Organizations (CROs), external lab service providers, etc) to support the R&D pipeline.

In addition, this role will collaborate with the entire team and our stakeholders to build outsourcing strategies and leading practices which improve values, minimize risk & cost, ensure quality, and create scalability in a dynamic and growing organization.

The position will report to the Director, Head of Research & Innovation Outsourcing Management.

Key Accountabilities

The key accountability of this role is to drive the end-to-end contracting & outsourcing process for assigned service area, in close collaboration with RIOM team and cross-functional stakeholder groups by:
Independently leading the RFI/RFP, negotiation, drafting and execution of contracts for clinical and nonclinical lab and data services, including master services agreements, work orders, consultancy agreements, termination agreements, etc.
Developing and maintaining robust and sustainable category strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Driving vendor evaluation and selection in alignment with outsourcing strategies.
Implementing vendor relationship oversight mechanisms, including performance evaluations and issue resolution, to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
Fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers, through effective communication and collaboration to drive sustainability, performance, and quality.
Partnering with Legal teams and subject matter experts to thoroughly evaluate potential legal, financial, and operational risks associated with vendor contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant industry regulations.
Providing guidance and advice to internal teams on contract-related matters, including interpretation of terms and conditions related to lab and data services.
Taking lead in and actively influencing continuous improvement initiatives that will generate comprehensive processes; delineate roles/responsibilities; and promote efficiency.

This role will also play an important part in the further development of the global outsourcing, contract management and vendor governance processes together with the entire RIOM team and partners in R&D, Legal, IT&D, Finance, Compliance & Risk, QA, and Global Procurement.

Experience
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) preferred.
8 years of experience in clinical lab services outsourcing in the bio-pharmaceutical industry or from a contract research organization or other relevant clinical services providers
Strong negotiation skills involving multiple vendor contract types including master service/collaboration agreements, work / change orders, termination agreements, etc.
Experience driving the selection, negotiation, and management of R&D service vendors, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of drug development including regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to nonclinical and clinical laboratories (e.g., GLP, GCP, ISO).
Experience in vendor management and oversight, including performance evaluations and issue resolution.
Outsourcing category strategy development and implementation.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong oral and written communication skills; fluent in English
Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$138,750.00---$231,250.00
