Responsibilities

Transfer Scholars Initiative Support

The Alumni Associate will support in the development and delivery of programming related to the newly launched Transfer Scholars Initiative. Duties include supporting the Director and Outreach Program Associate in the development and delivery of summer and academic year programming, both social and academic, for TSI participants, supporting the Transfer Application Bootcamps, providing one-on-one mentorship to students, and creating new group structures for ongoing application advising. The Alumni Associate will also work on interpreting program evaluation results and developing reports on program success. The Alumni Associate will support program staff in the lead up, application cycle, and launch of the TSI program, including applicant recruitment, selection, acceptance, and enrollment; programmatic planning; campus partner engagement; and student support. The Alumni Associate is also generally responsible for working with program staff and EBCAO communication staff to highlight the work of the program and increase visibility.

Transfer/Veteran Program Support

The Alumni Associate will provide programmatic support to Princeton’s Transfer and Veteran Program. Job responsibilities will include supporting the Director and Associate Director with planning and delivering co-curricular workshops, designing and implementing large events (including but not limited to the Transfer Student Orientation and Move-in, the Transfer Tailgate, Transfer Commencement celebrations, etc.), and a host of community-building and social activities. At the request of the Director and Associate Director, the Alumni Associate will mentor student participants, connect them with appropriate resources, and ensure that they build relationship with campus advisors.

Broader EBCAO Program Support

The Alumni Associate will support the development and delivery of other EBCAO programs, particularly as they relate to or intersect with programs for transfer and non-degree seeking college students. For instance, the Alumni Associate will help develop academic year programming and engagement for participants in the Aspiring Scholars and Professionals Programming, including virtual events and events hosted at the participants’ home campuses. This programming may intersect with and overlap with programming delivered to TSI students; the AA should look for opportunities to capitalize on these synergies. In the lead up to the summer launch of ASAP, the AA will support the Director in recruiting and selecting applicants, creating a programmatic calendar, and engaging campus partners. This work may overlap with preparations for the TSI program and the AA should look for and capitalize potential synergies.

The Alumni Associate is a key member of the larger EBCAO team and will participate in larger Center programming. They may be asked to occasionally support other programs at the discretion of the EBCAO director. In particular, they will work to identify potential programming overlap between transfer programs and the SIFP program and to determine new strategies for increasing collaboration between these units and encouraging student participation in both units, as appropriate. One example of such a synergy would be supporting TSI alums in their enrollment and success in the FSI Online program beginning summer 2024.
