Mechanical Assembly Technician

The ideal candidate will have a high degree of mechanical aptitude with 1-5 years of experience working with hand and power tools. Machine assembly experience of 1 to 2 years

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $19 / hour + DOE

What you'll be doing as a Mechanical Assembly Technician:

  • Assist Machine Builder and Assembly Team Leads with the assembly process of machines.

  • Communicate progress daily with Assembly Team Leader

  • Assisting at the offsite installation of our systems at our customer's facility

  • In this role, Machine Builders will utilize hand and power tools to assemble machines based on drawings, specifications, and electrical schematics

  • The assemblies are custom and vary by size based on the project's needs

  • Verify that all parts are available for assembly.

  • Monitor customer's specifications per the build sheet.

  • Drill and tap holes.

  • Assembles component parts to machine frame.

  • Insert sub-assemblies into main frame.

  • Can properly run cables, and hoses neatly through cable tray and raceways.

  • Possesses a sense of pride in their work

  • Ability to interface with a variety of plant team members from different disciplines

  • Willingness to accept a challenge and inclined to take initiative

  • Problem solving and troubleshooting

  • Test the assembled machines to ensure they are functioning properly and are of good quality Comply with workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and procedures

  • Report any machine or plant safety concerns to a Production Manager, Production Supervisor, or Team Lead.

  • Ensure that the assembly floor area remains well organized and free of clutter.

  • Maintain tools and the workspace in good condition

  • May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

  • Must have high degree of mechanical aptitude with 1-5 years related experience.

  • Continuous standing, grasping and carrying, frequent walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting and lifting for extended periods.

  • Visual ability to read prints and visually inspect: peripheral vision to avoid moving equipment.

  • Hearing ability to monitor machine sounds and communicate safety instructions with assembly team.

  • Forklift operations - Training available

  • Overhead crane operations – Training available 

  • Background check required
