As an RN Senior- Evening Officer of the Day (OD) you will provide clinical assistance and oversight to the nursing staff in the delivery of quality care to the residents of the MN Veterans Home by ensuring continuous operations. In this position you will serve the MN Veterans Home by assisting in the completion of the clinical assessments required by our regulatory agencies and demonstrating best practice clinical standard and provide the guidelines to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the residents. The RN Senior- Evening OD will provide direction to the nursing staff in the delivery of quality care and ensure that all scheduling and operational needs of the home are met. You will work as a member of the nursing department leadership team and provide guidance and direction regarding the delivery of clinical services be a resource for nursing staff as well as the person in charge in the building when leadership is not available.

This position is designed as part-time and primarily evening shift. The work schedule will include at least 48 hours per 2-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for partial employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse License with no restrictions

  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a skilled nursing facility with primary responsibility for coordinating and assessing plan of care

  • Experience with clinical documentation and writing investigative reports

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to skilled nursing and state survey

  • Effective communication skills

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using technology, equipment, devices, and/or other facilitation tools related to nursing education/training

  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a skilled nursing facility with primary responsibility for coordinating and assessing plan of care

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Nursing or related degree program

  • Experience leading or supervising nursing staff

Additional Requirements

  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.

  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
