Work Type: Full Time

Hours Per Week: 40.00

Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Summary:

Dries, folds, sorts, and distributes clean linens so that patient care needs for linen throughout all facility and associated practices can be met.

Responsibilities:

  • Loads and unloads dryers using correct poundage, drying like linens together.

  • Must be able to fold linens efficiently and quickly, using the mechanical folders, as well as by hand, as necessary

  • Check linens for stains, tears, or wear, setting them aside for attention.

  • Takes clean linens to various patient care areas, pushing and pulling laundry carts.

  • Mends linens as needed.

  • Stamps new linens as needed.

  • Performs needed documentation, needs to be able to count and add/subtract.

  • Cleans laundry room and related equipment daily

  • May fill in for Laundry Wash Person, weighing, sorting, and washing soiled linens, which requires early morning starts of at least 5:00 a.m

  • Must be able to work with laundry and cleaning detergents.

  • Handles clean and soiled linens according to procedure

  • Must be able to follow established safety methods and procedures as outlined in organizational and department policies.

  • Maintains professional and dignified behavior.

  • Must be able to operate the folding equipment

  • Must be able to tolerate working in a fast paced, noisy, small environment.

Other Information:

  • Must be able to work alternating weekends, holidays and assist as needed in other departments, ie; Food Service, Housekeeping, Maintenance.
