University of Maine System Athletic Trainer in Presque Isle, Maine

University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking to hire an Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer encompasses the clinical tasks routinely performed by athletic trainers which are organized according to the five domain areas established by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (I – Injury/illness prevention and wellness protection; II – Clinical evaluation and diagnosis; III – Immediate and emergency care; IV – Treatment and rehabilitation; V – Organizational and professional health and wellbeing).

The selected candidate will provide athletic training coverage for the UMPI athletic teams during clinic hours, practices, and games.

Annual salary is $50,000. Additional benefits (https://umpi.hiretouch.com/uploads/523/file/Single_Page_Benefits-UMPSA_2.docx) include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities

  • Ability to work independent and act quickly in potential stressful situations

  • Ability to work with diverse populations

Qualifications:

Required:

  • BOC-certified

  • Maine Licensure as an Athletic Trainer

  • BLS for health care providers (CPR & AED) certification

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in athletic training

  • Experience in athletic training

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Athletic training experience in collegiate athletics or 3+ years of athletic training experience
