Summary Incumbent will serve with the Physical medicine & Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS) at the Northern Arizona VA Healthcare System, and will serve as a chaperone for the women's health rehabilitation visits. This position provides a varied range of supportive and direct care duties of patient activities. Responsibilities Major Duties: Specific duties include but are not limited to: Be present in the examination room during therapist examinations, procedures, or treatments involving the breast and genitalia, regardless of the gender of the provider. Be present in the examination room during Therapy for the pelvic floor and breast region. Provide educational handouts to veterans as directed by the therapist. Gather items needed as directed by the therapists. Direct/escort patient to treatment area/room. Interacts with the patient and family and directs any medical questions to the therapist. Perform duties related to preparing room for the each veteran. Chaperone will clean items as directed by the therapists, stow/gather supplies as directed, move items in room as needed for individualized treatment. Provide intake form to veteran as directed by therapist Maintain a work safe environment to include non-technical maintenance of equipment, safety checks, cleaning, and/or stocking. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday. 07:00am - 04:30 pm. (Every other Friday off) Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/27/2024. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: GS-4 grade level - General & Specialized Experience: Six (6) months of general experience and 6 months of specialized experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the work of the position or experience that provides a familiarity with the subject matter or is related to the work of the position to be filled. Examples of General Experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Independently performing customer service duties. Examples of related specialized experience include (but are not limited to): patient care activities; ability to observe, perceive, use judgment, show initiative, and pay attention to detail; ability to politely and courteously provide customer service and relay information.OR, Education: Successfully completed of 2 full years of study above high school that included study in medical, health, or related fields. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business or technical school. Education cannot be credited without documentation. Transcripts and/or Student Record Required. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-4 level. You must have a combination of college level education beyond one (1) year with course(s) related to a study in medical, health, or related fields, and General and/or Specialized Experience to meet total experience requirements. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify at the GS-04. NOTE: If using education combined with General Experience to qualify, a transcript must be submitted with your application if you are basing all or part of your qualifications on education. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
