salary: $41,000 - $62,400 per year

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

  • Collection and Sorting: Gathering e-waste from various sources, such as businesses, households, and collection events, and sorting items based on type and recyclability.

  • Disassembly: Carefully disassembling electronic devices to separate components like metals, plastics, and circuit boards. This may involve using specialized tools and techniques to avoid damaging parts.

  • Hazardous Material Management: Identifying and safely handling hazardous materials, such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which are common in electronics. This includes following protocols for safe disposal or recycling.

  • Recycling Processes: Operating machinery and equipment used for shredding, crushing, and processing e-waste materials. This includes ensuring compliance with environmental regulations during processing.

  • Quality Control: Conducting inspections and tests on processed materials to ensure they meet recycling standards and quality specifications.

  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of incoming e-waste, processed materials, and compliance with regulations. This documentation is vital for tracking and reporting.

  • Environmental Compliance: Staying informed about local, state, and federal regulations regarding e-waste disposal and ensuring that operations comply with these laws.

  • Public Education and Outreach: Educating the public and businesses about the importance of e-waste recycling and proper disposal methods.
