Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description

The Systems Test Technician sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototype or production model PCA's and complete units. The role involves writing basic technical reports to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, or deviations from design specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system-level testing with a focus on military applications.

  • Test, gather data, and perform analysis on underwater measurement equipment and navigation systems.

  • Read and interpret blueprints.

  • Use sonar technology in testing various systems, ranging in size from as small as a pen to as large as a table.

  • Write technical reports on system operations, malfunctions, and deviations from design specifications.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with bill of material, blueprint reading, and testing equipment.

  • Proficiency in using tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, and other diagnostic testing equipment.

  • Knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Experience in testing electronic assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tools.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills at a business level.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • An associate degree, diploma from a technical or vocational school, equivalent military training, or a combination of education and experience.

  • 2-5 years of directly related experience.

  • Experience using hand tools and machine shop tools.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and reviewing Bills of Materials (BOM).

This role is based in a manufacturing environment with a high mix, low volume production. The work involves handling both small and large products.
