Description
The Family Peer Advocate (FPA) is a split position with the MHOTRS and IOP program. The FPA will function as a member of the team and deliver Family Peer Support and Training Services. Family Peer Support and Training services are formal and informal services and supports provided to families whose youth are experiencing social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges in their home, school, placement, and/or community centered services. These services provide the training and support necessary for the families to engage and participate actively in their youth’s service/treatment planning process and with the ongoing implementation and reinforcement of skills learned throughout service access.
Requirements
Have some high school education, but preference is a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Self-identify as having lived experience being primary caretaker of a child with mental health, juvenile justice, special education or foster care and/or is in recovery from substance use.
Meet the NYS Office of Mental Health’s qualifications/requirements needed to be eligible and complete Family Peer Advocate credentialing.

18.52-20.37/hr
