Job Title: Tax Compliance Specialist

Job Description

As a Tax Compliance Specialist, your main role will be to manage the recordkeeping, registration, renewal, and research for federal, local, and state compliance including the process for establishing our company in new states. You'll be responsible for hands-on full lifecycle operational contract review and record retention. You will also offer backup coverage for project contract and non-disclosure agreement (NDA) reviews. As part of your duties, you will lead the annual insurance renewal process and manage coverage change requirements between renewals. You'll also research legal and regulatory requirements as needed, file monthly or quarterly receipts or excise tax reports, and provide administrative support for finance policies and procedures. Additionally, you will offer organizational support on S179D eligible project submittals, manage R&D Tax credit process with external partners, support internal workplans and projects of the Finance Department, and handle shareholder record administration and stock purchasing coordination.

Hard Skills

  • 3+ years experience bookkeeping or transactional accounting

  • 3 years experience with tax compliance and contract analysis

  • Understanding of general tax regulations for federal and state jurisdictions

  • Experience working with Accounting ERP software

  • Comfortable with Excel pivot tables - intermediate skill level

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Portland, Oregon and some days remote.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment where dogs/pets may be present. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
