Our Location

Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Sr. Project Manager, CaNI would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

This position will assume responsibilities to implement and project manage an array of complex and innovative locational and community-focused initiatives lead by Energy Trust’s Communities + New Initiatives (CaNI) Sector within the broader Energy Programs Group. The position will lead cross functional project teams, act as liaison with utilities and other external stakeholders, and produce and manage project-related reporting and documentation.

This position holds the overall view of assigned initiative timeliness and resource utilization for the Communities + New Initiatives Sector, including initiatives that span across specific programs. At the direction of project and program leads, this position builds out project scope and approach along with project plans including key milestones, identifies resource requirements including both internal and external resources, leads cross functional teams in completing plan tasks, and ensures quality and timeliness of initiative and deliverables.

This position may lead other cross functional projects as assigned, with correlating responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead project teams in completing pilot project tasks and deliverables. Coordinate all aspects of project implementation, ensuring efforts meet internal and external financial, audit, evaluation and public communication requirements.

  • Lead cross-functional teams with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement collaborative projects.

  • Work closely with project and program leadership and product owners to clarify requests and provide data sets to support program design decisions.

  • Facilitate regular cross-program and cross-functional project team meetings and sub-team meetings.

  • Act as main point of contact for stakeholder and utility project team representatives.

  • Provide regular communications to stakeholder and utility project team members and OPUC staff.

  • Manage creation of project documentation including presentations, reports, and memos.

  • Manage day-to-day project activities, including coordinating with the many team members and organization subject matter experts.

  • Provide direction and clarification and keep project teams moving forward in development of approach.

  • Work with support groups to create a solution to track program and community efforts through our systems of record.

  • Create and maintain budget and track cost of programs and/or projects.

  • Create structure for and maintain project SharePoint sites.

  • Responsible for all final project documentation and reporting (including project implementation plans, schedules, marketing and communications plans, biannual reports, information for Energy Trust quarterly reports).

  • Represent Energy Trust in public settings to contractors and stakeholder audiences.

  • Support other community initiatives and related project development as assigned.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Perform all functions of the job in a safe manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • This position will oversee the work of staff, contractors, suppliers and/or vendors as necessary in the course of managing specific projects and other efforts.

  • This position has no internal supervisory responsibilities.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred.

  • Minimum five years of professional experience in project evaluation, project management, project development or design, or the ability to translate skills to such.

  • Project Management Institute PMBOK and/or Prosci Change Management Certification preferred.

  • Technical aptitude or experience in energy efficiency (or customer-facing clean energy or related field) project development and management preferred.

  • Experience facilitating, building, and managing high-performing project teams

  • Strong time management skills, problem-solving skills and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required; must have proven ability to produce clear, concise reports and recommendations and make presentations.

  • Ability to develop and lead organization change management efforts related to project implementation

  • Successful experience working within multidisciplinary teams. Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.

  • Ability to direct or work with contractors.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management tracking applications.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software applications

  • Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks to ensure deadlines are met

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications in the pay equity assessment to determine equitable salary placement.

Starting Compensation: $77,000 -$96,900
