Description
Elemental Technologies, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) company, is the leader in software-defined video solutions. Our Live Transcoder team is looking for an experienced software development leader to help us reach our goal of becoming the most respected brand in the video processing space.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will write great code to process our customers’ video, audio, captions and other metadata. You’ll work on cutting edge technologies like 4K HEVC delivery, high dynamic range video, immersive audio codecs, virtualized and containerized media engines, and high performance networking. You will work on a focused team with clear leadership and a direct ability to solve our customers’ problems and enable their success. Your work will have a broad reach. Your code will process thousands of video streams around the world, and the final output will be enjoyed by millions of viewers. The full resources of Amazon Web Services are available to us and the only limit is our imagination.
Key job responsibilities
Build and improve high performance real-time software.
Design and implement new features from specification to final test.
Deliver complete customer solutions.
Mentor junior engineers as they acclimate to our team and this industry.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Media software development experience in a Linux environment
