Position Information
The Estuary Partnership seeks a Restoration Ecologist to join our Restoration Team to assist in the development and implementation of on-the-ground restoration projects, focusing on floodplain reconnection and habitat for imperiled fish species. The position will be focused on construction oversight of the East Fork Lewis River Floodplain Reconnection project, a large project with a two-year implementation window. The position will provide oversight and inspections for a wide variety of construction and revegetation work, including daily inspection reports, fish salvage, and coordination with the construction contractor, engineer, and construction management team. Minimum qualifications for the position include three years developing, designing, and implementing on-the-ground habitat restoration projects, including construction oversight, particularly for floodplain reconnection or stream restoration projects. Experience with projects from initial concept to permitting, post project monitoring, and working familiarity with riverine or habitat restoration, natural resource or watershed management is required. An undergraduate degree in a related field is required.?

Work Environment
This position is
with the Estuary Partnership, out of our Portland, Oregon office. It is expected that this position will work almost exclusively at job sites, requiring regular travel, early morning, starts, and some weekend availability particularly during construction season (April through October). This position will be focused on construction oversight for a large floodplain reconnection project near LaCenter, Washington (East Fork Lewis River Floodplain Reconnection project). Field work occurs in wetlands or on the river, in various weather conditions, and includes navigating difficult terrain on foot and carrying field gear. Flexibility, adaptability, and understanding that field work is often fluid and occasionally challenging is a must.
