Robert Half HR Generalist in Portland, Oregon

Description

If you love Human Resources and you're looking for an exciting, new HR Generalist position, Robert Half has the opportunity for you! This role involves various HR duties, including managing the employee handbook, handling employee relations, processing leave requests, special projects, and more. This position will be fully on-site and parking will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews

  • Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations

  • Accountable for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department

  • Engage with other teams, including with upper management, employees, and third-party vendors to facilitate discussions around agreements and projects

  • Draft templates for various HR documents, including the Employee Handbook

  • Develop official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters

  • Compare local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures

  • Employee relations, including engaging employees and coordinating sensitive conversations

    Requirements

  • Prior HR Generalist experience required

  • Skilled in technology applications and software such as HRIS systems

  • Prior experience implementing and coordinating benefits is a plus

  • The ideal candidate for this role will be able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity

  • Experience Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

  • Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects

  • Excellent written and verbal business skills

  • Strong knowledge of local, state and federal laws

  • B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources emphasis
