Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced individual to join our External Reporting team. The External Reporting team is responsible for Autodesk’s SEC filings including Forms 10Q and 10K, plays an instrumental role in the quarterly close and earnings cycle and annual Investor Day, and is involved in many cross-functional business projects. This is a critical role in the financial reporting process; it provides high visibility to Autodesk leadership including the CFO and has growth potential.

The position will report to the External Reporting Senior Manager.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and tie-out of financial statements, including balance sheet, statement of operations, statement of cash flows and statement of comprehensive income as well as MD&A and footnote disclosures for SEC filings (10K, 10Q, 8-K, S-3, etc.)

  • Preparation of interim and annual financial reporting disclosure checklists

  • Review and tie-out of quarterly earnings release documents

  • Review and tie-out the presenter’s slide deck for the Investor day

  • Create/update supporting schedules for the tie-out of financial statements, MD&A, and footnote disclosures for SEC filings

  • Coordinate with personnel from other departments to gather, consolidate and analyze financial information

  • Provide assistance to the external auditors in their quarterly review and annual audit of SEC filings and external reporting prepared schedules

  • Perform annual (or interim as applicable) impairment assessments of goodwill

  • Responsible for segment reporting including the segment footnote, cross-functional quarterly segment review meetings, annual (or interim as applicable) assessment of segment reporting changes, and preparation of the annual segment reporting memo

  • Assist in the identification and implementation of new accounting or reporting standards that relate to external reporting areas of responsibility and applicable in disclosures in SEC filings

  • Other accounting responsibilities and special projects as they arise

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate should possess and display the following characteristics:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within public accounting (Big 4 preferred but not required)

  • Experience working with public companies or within the software industry preferred

  • Experience and knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related field

  • Licensed CPA or actively pursuing completion of CPA licensing preferred but not required

  • Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

  • A solid understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and regulations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical accounting audience

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Workiva filing experience or similar platform a plus but not required

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $81,200 and $140,140. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
