Aston Carter Controller (Portland, OR) in Portland, Oregon

A company in Portland, OR is seeking an experienced Controller to join the team!

Job Title: Controller

Location: SE Portland 97214

Length: This will be a direct hire/permanent role

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance

  • 7+ YOE in accounting, with experience managing 3+ direct reports

  • Experience with GL accounting

  • Experience working for a company with $100M+ revenue

  • SOX experience, US or international is fine

  • Strong experience with Excel- most of the reporting is all done in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, report creation, macros)

  • Multi entity/unit ideal

  • Need to have experience with lease accounting and fixed assets- understanding the process

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage all aspects of AP, AR, and Payroll

  • Play a key role in the month-end close process including posting journal entries and completing bank reconciliations

  • Issue financial statements and corporate annual report

  • Make recommendations according to company performance

  • Create financial and operating metrics

  • Manage annual budget and forecasts

  • Perform variance analysis

  • Analyze capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations

  • Provide information to external auditors annually

  • Ensure local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings are in compliance

  • Manage all aspects of lease and fixed asset accounting

  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP

  • Maintain efficient accounting department organization necessary to achieve department goals and objectives

  • Oversee all accounting functions for multiple subsidiaries
