Civil Engineer (Substation Design)
Job Summary
POWER Engineers is seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our Power Delivery Pacific Civil Structural Substation Department in Lake Oswego, Oregon. This role focuses on engineering design for electrical substations.
Responsibilities
All aspects of substation civil design including permitting support, site layout, grading design, stormwater analysis, survey coordination, and civil construction inspection
Development of civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules
Support of substation physical design and equipment layout
Occasional travel will be required
Required Education/Experience
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an accredited college
4+ years civil design experience
AutoCAD 2015 or newer, and Civil 3D experience
Mechanical reasoning skills and attention to detail
Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Desired Education/Experience
MicroStation Inroads design experience
Ability to perform calculations to size culverts, ditches, and retention/detention facilities using stormwater modeling software
Professional Engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date and ability to obtain licensure in multiple states
