General Summary:

Unum is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst I to join our Solutions Organization. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience working with Fineos and a strong understanding of Agile methodologies. In this role, you will support the IT Delivery roadmap, ensure alignment across teams, and drive high-quality decision-making processes.

Hybrid opportunity: 2 days per week onsite at our Portland, ME, Chattanooga, TN, or Atlanta, GA campus.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with Fineos and working within Agile teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills to articulate complex ideas to diverse stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and business process improvement methodologies.

  • Technical aptitude with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Stakeholder management experience, with the ability to negotiate and manage expectations.

  • Adaptability and flexibility to respond to changing business needs.

  • Project management skills, including the ability to break down tasks and manage timelines.

  • Continuous learner with an interest in staying updated on industry trends and best practices.

Principal Duties:

  • Support Fineos platform configurations, workflows, and reporting to meet business needs.

  • Maintain a holistic understanding of the IT Delivery roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to define user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritize backlog items.

  • Partner with Agile teams to ensure product backlog readiness and compliance with enterprise standards.

  • Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are accurately documented and reflected in the product backlog.

  • Assist in the testing process, tracking defects, and troubleshooting issues as needed.

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, ensuring progress is communicated and any impediments are addressed.

  • Engage in industry trend analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$60,500.00-$117,500.00
