JOB: Powder Coater

Job Description

Paints and uses powder operations to properly prepare components that may include sub-assemblies and all other related components in order to contribute to the completion of a variety of products. Adheres to quality and quantity standards and follows directions to meet part specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare components using painting and powder coating techniques.

  • Ensure adherence to quality and quantity standards.

  • Follow directions to meet part specifications.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and ergonomic practices.

  • Participate in cross-training and teamwork activities.

  • Identify and report safety and quality issues.

  • Learn new processes, systems, and equipment.

  • Document work and perform basic preventative maintenance.

  • Lift and carry 10-50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally.

  • Operate machinery and use required safety equipment.

  • Ability to meet work schedule and overtime requirements.

  • Ability to read and understand procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English.

  • Ability to carry out verbal instructions and communicate in English.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a repetitive nature with stamina.

  • Motivation to grow, learn, and progress in skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Experience with paint, painting, powder coating, powder coat, production, general labor, industrial, and paint prep.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial setting with exposure to loud noises. Requires the operation of machinery and the use of safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection in designated areas. Proper respirators and other equipment are necessary in the paint booth area. Physical demands include prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, sitting, standing, and/or crawling. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50
