SEMCO - Senior Internal Auditor

This position is responsible for performing complex level professional internal auditing work that involves leading or performing operational, compliance, financial, and technology audit projects, advisory, and a comprehensive understanding of business risk. This includes continuous improvement of audit processes and procedures for testing to ensure ongoing compliance and efficiency, providing input to the development of the annual audit plan, and providing training to other internal audit staff. Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit, this individual will also be required to maintain all organizational and professional ethical standards.

You Will:

  • Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing risk-based criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures

  • Perform interviews, review documents, develop and administers surveys, compose summary memos, and prepare working papers

  • Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed

  • Assist in communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to management and the board of directors

  • Develop and maintain productive client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings

  • Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers

  • Represent internal audit on organizational project teams, at management meetings, and with external organizations

  • Perform audits related to operational, compliance, finance, and technology

  • Work collaboratively with management to identify required actions needed

  • Identify and evaluate the organization’s risk areas and provides input to the development of the annual audit plan

You Have:

  • 5+ Years of full-time experience in industry auditing required

  • Experience in leading and conducting audits in various areas pertinent to the industry

  • Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions

  • Knowledge of industry program policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ability to negotiate issues and resolve problems.

  • Knowledge of commodity marketing considered an asset

  • Considerable knowledge of and skill in applying internal auditing and accounting principles and practices, and management principles and preferred business practices

  • Good knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by The Institute of Internal Auditors

  • Skill in conducting quality control reviews of audit work products

  • Knowledge of management information systems terminology, concepts, and practices

  • Planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines

  • Certification such as a CPA, CIA, CISA

  • Class 5 Driver's License with the ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $89,375 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
