We are looking for a Sr. Operations Manager to join our CP team in Port Arthur, TX.

The Petrochemicals division is the starting point of BASF’s petrochemicalbased value chains throughout the regions. The division manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of high-quality basic chemicals and tailored specialties for internal and external customers.

You will be responsible for leading the Port Arthur Cold Section Daily Operations Team (DOT) to ensure the effective, efficient, and safe operation by executing targets set out by the Site Leadership Team and Business Group. The Operations Manager is accountable for daily plant operations performance, quality, cost, volumes and environmental control. As a Sr. Operation Manager, you will be an active member of the site management team and be responsible for best practices sharing across the sites as well as global colleagues and counterparts within BASF and Total Energies, our joint venture partner.

As a Sr. Operations Manager - Port Arthur, TX, you create chemistry by...

  • Being accountable for daily safety, health and environmental compliance.

  • Carrying the upkeep and development of all policies and procedures.

  • Identifying and implementing of work process improvements, KPI/Metrics and methods to support implementation.

  • Being responsible for training tactical operations personnel for all process and/or equipment changes for the units.

  • Maintaining and monitoring operational budgets.

  • Supporting site initiatives, projects and maintenance activities to improve the Steam Cracker.

  • Meeting production objectives and targets at the site and our partner refinery.

  • Collaborating with the Operations Director in coaching and developing team members. Coaching and developing the Operations Engineering staff, Operations Coordinator, and trainer for specific area.

If you...

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry.

  • Count with 10+ years of experience in Petrochemical operations and/or Plant Engineering/Maintenance support.

  • Possess 3+ years of leadership and supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Count with excellent interpersonal skills needed to work with various organizational levels and strong oral communication and interpersonal skills to develop teamwork.
