KEY HOLDER

Title: Key Holder

Reports To: Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence

Reporting to this Position:

Basic Function:

In the absence of store management, the keyholder is responsible for opening and closing the assigned store. Provides leadership and guidance to other team members when acting as a keyholder, making certain customer service and performance objectives are followed. Attains personal performance goals by developing behaviors and skills through company training programs. Works effectively with other employees and contributes to the overall success of the assigned store.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completion of Information Security Privacy Awareness Quiz with a passing score

  • Completion of Safety First Quiz (Akron-Based Team Members) or the 2016 Key Safety Curriculum (Dallas-Based Team Members) with a passing score

  • No Code of Conduct written counseling within the past six months

  • Meets all expectations (Akron-based Team Members) or Achieved Requirements (Dallas-based Team Members) on last Performance Appraisal

  • Completion of Minimum Training Requirements training module (Found on Signet Learning Portal) and completion of Minimum Training Requirements Quiz with a passing score

    Responsibilities:

  • When opening or closing as the keyholder, makes certain team members adhere to Company policies and procedures in support of the Company’s business objectives, Corporate Mission Statement and Customer first philosophy.

  • Open and close the store at designated times when designated as the keyholder.

  • Assume the duties and responsibilities of store management when opening or closing the store as a keyholder.

  • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships at all levels, creating an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.

  • Exert maximum effort to achieve store sales projections when opening or closing the store as the keyholder. Achieve Company goals by maintaining a daily focus on personal standards achievement.

  • When opening or closing as the keyholder, makes certain customer service and performance objectives are followed by all team members.

  • Conduct strategy sessions with team members when opening or closing the store to keep them informed of daily expectations.

  • Assist the store management in sales training and role plays as needed. Adhere to merchandise control procedures and complete in-store transfers, case counts and other tasks as required.

  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints quickly, efficiently, and courteously. Informs store management of any customer concerns.

  • Implement merchandising and advertising programs. Set up advertised merchandise displays. Report customer requests. Conduct and assist with merchandise inventories, as requested.

  • Work schedules are determined as required by the individual store to include evenings and weekends.

    Principal Accountabilities:

  • Learn features and benefits of the merchandise. Provide expert knowledge regarding quality, value, warranties and services.

  • Monitor the sale ability of merchandise (i.e. ticketed properly, clean and properly displayed). Follow all policies regarding security and loss prevention. Exercise every effort to protect Company interests.

  • Follow Company guidelines regarding window and showcase displays as outlined in the Visual Selling System and Promotion Book/Sign Changes. Advise management of customer comments and responses to advertising programs.

  • Strictly adheres to Company guidelines pertaining to discount policies in the absence of store management.

  • Develop a full understanding of all sales, payment options, administrative and security policies, procedures and duties. Develop a full understanding of store promotions (i.e., payment options and special events).

  • Verify payment option guidelines and policies are adhered to in the absence of store management.

  • Performs customer outreach as required.

  • Establish a positive, professional work atmosphere. Conduct himself/herself in a manner that will influence and earn the respect of employees and management. Maintain a neat, professional appearance in keeping with established Dress Code Policy.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with employees and management. Encourage employees to participate and offer ideas.

  • Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of the sales floor, office, windows, and storage areas

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
