The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Manual Machinist (Tool Maker) 2^nd^ Shift (H39) to join our team. The Machinist will be responsible for toolmaking, die repair, and fabrication.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Set-up and operation of miscellaneous manual machines, including mills, lathes, and grinders 
  2. Machine parts according to blueprint standards and specifications.
  3. Perform inspection related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications.
  4. Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
  5. Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation.
  6. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.
  7. Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards. 
  8. Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts through the Cell. 
  9. Adhere to all safety standards and regulations. 
  10. Participate in the training and development of other Cellular Manufacturing Associates to promote the continuous quality improvement of manufacturing operations.
  11. Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of machined parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Experience with the following is required:

  • 2-3 years Manual lathe and mill experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Possess solid fundamentals in GD&T
  • Experience with a variety of standard and dedicated gauging approaches
  • Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
  • US. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
