The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Machining Intern to join our team.
The machining intern must currently be enrolled in a technical program with a focus on CNC Machining. During the internship the machinist will gain hands on experience in the following:
- Set-up and operation of miscellaneous CNC and/or manual machines, including mills, lathes, drills, grinders, hone, lap, deburr, etc.
Inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Currently enrolled in a Technical Program
- Must be able to read and interpret blue prints
- Possess solid fundamentals in GD&T
- Must have experience with a variety of standard and dedicated gauging approaches
- Experience with aerospace materials such as SST, Inconels, Hast X, Aluminum, etc. is a plus.
Physical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).
U.S. Citizenship status required. Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
