Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk

SHIFT : 6AM - 2:30PM M-F

Job Description

A shipping clerk is responsible for coordinating and managing the outgoing shipment of a company's products. This includes tasks such as packaging items, generating shipping labels, tracking inventory, updating shipping records, and ensuring timely delivery of orders. Working within a warehouse environment, they play a key role in the logistics process by accurately preparing and dispatching shipments to customers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage outgoing shipments of products.

• Package items and generate shipping labels.

• Track inventory and update shipping records.

• Ensure timely delivery of orders.

• Pull parts off a cart and place them to dry using metal fixtures.

• Use a computer to review parts and follow work instructions.

• Follow work instructions for drying parts after the metal plating process.

Essential Skills

• Attention to detail: Accurately completing paperwork and ensuring correct product selection and quantities.

• Physical ability: Lifting and moving boxes, packages, and other items.

• Computer proficiency: Using warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software.

• Basic math skills: Calculating shipping costs and weights.

• Organizational skills: Prioritizing tasks and managing multiple orders simultaneously.

• Communication skills: Interacting with customers, warehouse staff, and carriers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in shipping and receiving.

• Manufacturing and production worker experience.

• Experience in racking, plating, material handling, anodizing, machine operating, and warehouse production.

• Packaging, assembly, inspection, and general production experience.

• Pallet jack experience.

• Ability to read and check pick lists.

Work Environment

The work environment is a production setting without air conditioning on the production floor. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 2:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pompano Beach, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
