Construction Senior Project Manager
KEITH is seeking a Construction Senior Project Manager for the Broward County School Board SMART Bond Program. This position will report to the Programs Manager or their designee responsible for the delivery of the assigned school improvement projects.
PRIMARY FUNCTION : Provide the Program Project Managers with information pertaining to the construction activities taking place at numerous assigned projects related to (K thru 12) Educational Facilitates here in Broward County.
TYPICAL DUTIES :
On behalf of the Program, initiate and maintain liaison with Program’s PM, various Architect / Engineers designers and construction contractors awarded construction contracts on the facilitate construction activities at the various school facilities.
Assist the Program with project procurement and project integration management.
Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Represent the Program in project meetings; assist in negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
Assisting with RFIs, reviewing submittals / shop drawings and addressing construction field administration.
Field review, oversight and evaluation of the progress and quality of the construction activities and personnel to determine in general if the work is being performed in a manner indicating that the work when completed will be in conformance with the Contract Documents.
Communicate project status to Program staff for their feedback, in order to ensure the project aligns with program needs.
Routinely review bid specifications, submittals, bulletins, change orders, schedules and other documents.
Participate in conflict resolution, including recommending corrective actions, including travel to schools and work sites throughout the District.
Review and approve pay requests submitted by contractors.
Provide outstanding customer service and uses positive interpersonal communication skills.
Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
Participates in training programs to enhance individual skills and proficiency related to the job responsibilities.
Ensures adherence to safety rules and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Construction Project Manager preferably with school projects.
• Must have experience with vertical construction.
• Experience in Fast Track Construction Preferred.
• Ability to multitask.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Computer skills.
• Must pass background screening for school access badge.
