Job Description:

Position Summary: The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be primarily responsible for managing sustaining projects related to our endodontic product line focused on preserving tooth structure to improving oral health for patients around the world. The individual will provide ongoing support and enhancement of our existing products and support new product development. This role involves troubleshooting, redesigning for manufacturability, and improving product performance while ensuring regulatory compliance.

This position will be based in our Pomona, CA location in the near future, but hired employees will initially work from our Orange, CA location until the work is transitioned to Pomona. The role will transition to Pomona in 2025.

Job Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead sustaining projects by identifying opportunities for design enhancements and implement changes to optimize product functionality and manufacturability.

Provide technical support for the current product line, addressing issues and implementing solutions to improve performance and reliability.

Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, test results, and product specifications.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer support, to ensure seamless product sustainment.

Ensure all product modifications comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Conduct testing and validation of design changes to ensure they meet performance and safety criteria.

Maintains an understanding of all current manufacturing processes.

Support new product development projects, when needed.

Actively participates in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to Kaizen and 5S events, Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping, and Transaction Process Improvement.

Effectively collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.

Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality.

Travels up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.

Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in a highly regulated environment required.

Extensive knowledge in machining and heat treatment processes required.

Proficiency with CAD software required, preferably SolidWorks required.

Experience managing projects via project management system (i.e. Microsoft Project, Workfront) highly preferred.

Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical production processes required.

Knowledgeable with CNC programing/machinery highly preferred.

Ability to manage complex projects required.

Intermediate Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.

Aptitude to quickly learn business systems required.

Strong verbal and technical written communication skills in English required.

Ability to build strong partnerships with other departments.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment required.

Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data when presenting a business case required.

Strong presentation skills are required.

Ability to handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness required.

Detail-oriented and the ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists required.

Proven skills in active listening with a seeking-to-understand approach.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
