United States Fleet Forces Command GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in Point Loma Complex, California

Summary You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the SUPPLY MATERIAL SUPPORT DIVISION, SUPPLY DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will support all assigned work as part of the assigned project within the supply chain of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) Detachment (Det) at Point Loma, San Diego California and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard offsite availabilities in Point Loma. You will analyze and confirm material required for repair and alteration of ships during availabilities is ordered, expedited, received and inspected to support production schedules. You will identify and assess material needs for other production work (OPW) on the shipyard and contribute to improved procedures in support of supply programs and operations. You will support the many repair programs that must be properly managed and controlled in storage, segregation, and issue. You will support the shipment process of the following programs: Fleet Rotatable Pool, Depot Level Repairable Program, Cannibalizations, and Material Transfer and Loan Request. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: * Experience applying knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. * Experience ensuring the proper identification, control, and preparation of documentation for Depot Level Repairable (DLR) turn-ins, and the turn-in of DLR material for processing. * Experience receiving, stowing, issuing, packaging, and shipping materials with varying requirements to meet the schedule demands. * Experience providing recommendations to upper level management for improved procedures in support of supply programs and operations.
