POSITION TITLE: PART DAY TEACHER ASSISTANT I/II\ \ LOCATION: Head Start Classroom at Lincoln\ \ CLOSING DATE: Position will be open until filled.\ \ HOURS: 29.5 hours per week\ \ DAYS: 195 days, August to June\ \ SALARY SCHEDULE: Rate of pay, Classified Level 3 at \$13.28 per hour or Teacher Asst. II Level 5 at \$16.02 per hour, depending on educational background.\ \ \ START DATE: As soon as possible\ \ JOB SUMMARY: The Teaching Assistant assists the teacher with planning and implementing classroom activities, parent activities and with preparation of the physical environment; works with parents and volunteers; participates in child assessment and home education home visits and parent-teacher conferences; takes on the role of teacher in the absence of the teacher.\ \ JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Teacher Assistant I - GED or High School diploma with commitment to obtain a CDA or higher within first two years of hire.\ Teacher Assistant II - CDA, Intermediate Technical Certificate or AA in early childhood.\ \ \ BENEFIT: Eligible for PERSI retirement, paid leave and insurance - medical, dental, vision, life insurance, Employee responsible for paying a portion of the insurance premiums.

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:\ \ 1. Bilingual capabilities\ 2. Work experience in a Head Start or other early childhood setting
