Aston Carter Senior Project Accountant in Plymouth, Minnesota

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records for construction projects, including income, expenses, and budgets.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure that projects are completed within budget constraints.

  • Cost Analysis: Analyze project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations to project managers and stakeholders.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing payments and receipts, reconciling accounts, and addressing discrepancies.

  • Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and present them to management and project teams.

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and requirements related to construction projects and company finances.

  • Payroll Processing: Oversee payroll processing for construction staff, including calculating wages, deductions, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.

  • Audit Preparation: Prepare financial documents and records for audits and assist auditors as needed.

  • Contract Review: Review and analyze contracts, proposals, and agreements to ensure financial terms and conditions are accurately reflected and followed.

  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate payment terms, and ensure timely payments.

  • Financial Forecasting: Provide financial forecasts and projections for construction projects, helping stakeholders make informed decisions.

  • Compliance and Regulations: Stay up-to-date with industry-specific accounting regulations and ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • 3-5+ years of experience.

  • Previous experience in construction accounting or a related field is preferred.

  • CPA is a plus (but not a must have)
