What you'll do in this role: The primary purpose of this position is to support systems and drive execution of programs to effectively maintain a safe workplace and ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) regulations. Your Impact at Integer As an EHSS Technician, you will have the opportunity to work in a culture of EHSS excellence driven by associate engagement. You will make an impact by: Adhering to Integer's Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements. Employing knowledge of EHSS practices and programs related to associate safety, environmental protection, equipment safety and security in a manufacturing environment. Performing inspections, audits, and reviews assigned by EHSS Manager as required by regulations and best practices and helps to identify solutions to findings. Assisting the EHSS Team in completion of projects related to required technical or administrative programs and other company EHSS goals. Gathering information from meetings, reports, and audits to use for determining trends, generating reports, and maintaining action trackers. Assisting in the collection, entry, maintenance, and analysis of EHSS statistics in Integer's Incident Management System and prepares reports required for internal and external requirements. Supporting compliance with hazardous waste and hazardous materials usage, storage, and disposal. Coordinating and assists with EHSS training programs. Facilitating the review and completion of accident investigations and corrective actions for incidents including injuries/illnesses, environmental, property damage, vehicle, security and observation/suggestions/near misses. Promoting Behavior Based Safety principles in accordance with company EHSS philosophy, programs, and culture. Assisting in records maintenance, files and reports as required by OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and other local, state and country regulations. Maintaining safety equipment in working order and performs or coordinates required inspections, maintenance and testing as required. Champions EHSS Excellence Supports the EHSS program by working with site associates focused on EHSS engagement goals including safety committees/teams, ergonomics, management safety audits, recurring EHSS inspections, Behavioral Based Safety (BBS), and special skills/certifications. Promote associate safety engagement by encouraging submittal of observations and suggestions; and reporting near-miss incidents. Assists EHSS Manager in assessing new equipment and chemicals coming on site. . Participates in the investigation and assessment of incidents and work-related injuries to determine root cause. Tracks EHSS corrective actions for prioritization, completion, and effectiveness. Conducts EHSS internal self-assessments as directed by the EHSS Manager. Engaged in internal and external inspections as needed to maintain compliance with EHSS requirements. Actively engaged in EHSS committees or teams including Emergency Response Team (ERT) Performs other functions as required. Cost Improvement - Cumulative incremental savings realized as a result of your accomplishments and collaboration, particularly in support of continuous improvements. Cost Controls - Adherence to budgets as part of the EHSS team. Engagement - Promote Associate engagement and support each associate's Individual Development Plan What sets you apart: Evidence that you learn, retain, and apply knowledge. It would be great if you could share examples of accumulated technical learnings and experiences that link directly to outlined expectations of this role. Having earned an associate's degree in environmental, natural or equivalent science, engineering technology, occupational safety/industrial hygiene or fire safety with 1-3 years of experience. Ability to collaborate with other departments to meet common goals related to overall company strategy. Certifications preferred include First Aid, CPR and AED; DOT/IATA, RCRA A calm demeanor that transcends the high energy, constantly changing production environment Basic knowledge of physical properties and hazards of chemicals. Well organized with excellent recordkeeping abilities, good interpersonal skills and ability to take work direction.
