Job Title: Production Control Manager

Department: Purchasing

Summary The Production Control Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop/maintain material and inventory control systems supporting customers with on-time delivery.

  • Support material activity associated with a directed buy process and assist in resolving contract management issues impacting material availability.

  • Manage accurate inventory records for all parts within (PLEX) ERP system.

  • Monitor material flow between suppliers, PLEX and the customer.

  • Analyze part specifications to resolve routing issues with engineering.

  • Verify all receiving documents and resolve receiving discrepancies.

  • Manage material scheduling, engineering change process and monthly freights budgets.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the supplier and customer.

  • Support the team with material storage issues; along with shipping and receiving dock.

  • Assist in development and continuous improvement of plant layout.

  • Monitor and verify materials pipeline to support Materials Requirement Plan (MRP).

  • Resolve supplier performance issues to ensure zero-defect with quality.

  • Minimize materials freight expenses.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
