Your role at Clorox:

The Clorox Disinfecting Wipes (CDW) business is the #1 brand in cleaning ($150M+ business) and has a goal to be the go-to wipe for a convenient clean without tradeoffs by growing. As a Wipes category we are looking to grow disproportionately to the rest of Cleaning based on aggressive innovation plans. The product and packaging are important vehicles to communicate and deliver delight and drive loyalty. The Wipes R&D team is seeking a consumer obsessed product/process development expert to join our agile group of scientists. In this role, you will bring new ideas and innovation to our products, while continuing to deliver against the broader Clorox goals.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide a R&D voice within the Clorox business, focused on consumer-obsessed innovation of CDW wipes and line extensions

  • Provide or develop technical expertise in all Clorox Wipes product areas; lead technical projects, partnering with subject matter experts, cross-functional partners and project managers, contributing to work with an enterprise perspective and technical thought leadership

  • Establish and grow relationships with external manufacturing and technology partners

  • Develop and lead product testing and validation, internally and externally, upholding a strong technical foundation and right rigor/right time mentality; develop and lead manufacturing implementation of product innovations

  • Create consumer and customer facing specifications and processing standards

  • Lead risk assessment and mitigation plan

  • Demonstrate a mentality of constant improvement and willingness to challenge past ways of working to drive efficiency in your work and presenting means of improving the work of the broader technical team

  • Establish and maintain strong technical organization through knowledge management and documentation

What we look for:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or time in applicable role(s) after college

  • Minimum: 3+ years as a product or process developer in consumer product goods companies or applicable field; 5+ years is desirable

  • Strong internal motivation, robust planning of technical and cross functional teams, critical thinking, problem solving under unique constraints, able to work independently, able to work with and through others

Workplace type:

Hybrid: This position will be a hybrid role, with a requirement of being onsite 2-3 days each week.

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $86,600 - $161,900

–Zone B: $79,400 - $148,400

–Zone C: $72,100 - $134,900

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
