We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Capital Project Manager with extensive Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) experience to join our dynamic team at a bustling chemical production facility currently undergoing an expansion project. This long-term contract position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, PTO, and holiday pay, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Facilitation and Coordination:

  • Lead and coordinate the successful implementation and completion of capital projects, ensuring smooth integration between construction, operations, and maintenance teams.

Support Construction:

  • Review and evaluate project proposals to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.

  • Facilitate clear and effective communication with contractors, fostering a collaborative working environment.

  • Manage contractor activities, ensuring compliance with contracts and project specifications.

  • Review contracts and submittals to verify performance and adherence to standards.

Maintenance, Operations, and Turnaround Coordination:

  • Develop and manage project timelines and milestones to ensure timely project delivery.

  • Coordinate outages and ensure alignment with maintenance and operational schedules.

  • Track Management of Change (MOC) processes during and after construction, including action items, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), document/drawing updates, and inventory updates.

Document Control:

  • Ensure all relevant parties have the latest updated drawings and documentation.

  • Verify the correct teams receive new and updated drawings in a timely manner.

Training Coordination:

  • Organize and facilitate training sessions by vendors on new equipment for maintenance and operations teams to ensure smooth transition and optimal operation.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related technical field OR comparable experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager with a focus on Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) systems in an industrial or chemical production setting.

  • Strong background in managing capital projects, with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects within scope, on time, and within budget.

  • Skills:

  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and external contractors.

  • Proficient in project management software and tools.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.

  • Other Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% as required for project needs.

  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8½ hours per day, with one Friday off each month.
